To meet the needs of teachers at Bunker Hill Elementary, a subscription to the online professional development site, teacheronlinetraining.com will offer teachers the opportunity to have access to SMART Board training. This online training will offer teachers many skills for using the software, Notebook 10. The professional development will be available to teachers at all times. The video tutorials offered can be taken again for review and take about an hour to complete. Through these courses teachers can increase learning by creating interactive activities for their students.
2. Policy and Guidelines
As part of the initiative, there will be a one day training that will introduce teachers to the resource. Teachers will participate in 3 of the course trainings on this day. The courses offered will have been chosen previously by the initiative committee who will offer support and leadership throughout the initiative. Following this professional development, there will be time allotted for teachers during grade level meetings to continue their learning and collaborate on projects and activities. Also, there will be an additional 1/2 day training for teachers participate in collaborating and sharing with their peers.
The implementation team will meet regularly to discuss progress. The technology initiative project manager will meet with grade level leaders and administration during level leader meetings to make sure needs are being met. Grade levels will decide on one grade level meeting a month to review materials and collaborate. Teachers will share their activiites on the school shared directory. On this drive, teachers will be able to access all saved materials from colleagues.

6. Security Issues-
Username and Passwords - On the introduction day of the professional development teachers will be taught how to access the site. Registration onto the site will occur during this time. Teachers will register their e-mail address and Identification information will be distributed. Usernames and passwords will be created. Teachers will be informed that they will be able to access the site 24 hours a day 7 days a week at home or at school using their username and password. If teachers forget their password at any time during their membership they can click on the "Help Me Login" link and enter their username and/or e-mail address to gain access to it. Teachers will be reminded not to share this information with anyone.

That teachers will begin to use small tools, share these with others and build upon skills throughout the year. Because teachers will have had a year to experience the SMART Boards in their classroom, they are now at a point where they are willing and want to learn more about how to use it to its fullest capability.

Evaluation Methods:
Informal discussions with teachers and students will be ongoing throughout the initiative. At the end of the initiative, the survey that was distributed at the beginning of the initiative will be redistributed to teachers. This information will be compared to the original survey results.
Future Plans:
After reviewing the survey results and having informal discussions with teachers and students throughout the year, progress will be assessed. Teachers will be reminded at the end of the school year that they have access/membership to the site until the end of July and can continue their learning over the summer if they choose. As teachers have become experts in using their SMARTBoards, they will be utilized to train new teachers. The technology initiative team will meet with administration to share survey results and discuss further implementation strategies as needed.
